Fly to Tamarindo
In Costa Rica there are several airlines that offer domestics flights in case you need a regular flight from the capital city of San Jose to Tamarindo. We recommend booking a SANSA flight, which is only 50 minutes and costs approximately $125 USD for a one-way ticket.
Also, you can book private flights or even fly directly to Guanacaste Airport – in which case you don't need to take another flight.
Shuttle to Tamarindo
Shared or Private Shuttle (minivan service) is available. If you choose shared shuttle, it is the most affordable, reliable, and efficient transportation available.
The shuttle can be reserved as either private or a shared minivan with other passengers traveling in the same direction.
The approximate prices are $55/adult if it is shared, and $250 for a private van, depending on the number of people.
Drive to Tamarindo
The local airport there are several car rental agencies. The road to Tamarindo is pretty good and easy to navigate.
The rental price for two days (taking the car at the airport in San Jose and returning it to the Liberia office or in Tamarindo) costs between $50 and $175 – depending on the company, the car, etc.
